The Milford Upper Charles

Yeay!!! I did it!!!! I finally walked the Milford Upper Charles Trail again......just like I used to....

I walked the trail with a friend almost daily. (never on the weekends ;) We would walk for approximately 5 miles. It was great. I felt energetic. Exercise is really good for you and I.

Soon after I began my photography education at CDIA, I was in a horrible car accident. It left me sitting in a wheelchair and my life as I new it was put on hold. My world came crashing down along with my dreams of becoming a Photographer.

This is the last image I took before that accident.......
However If you know me at all you'd know how determined I am. Well....That determination paid off. I fought to get out of the wheel chair and after a ton of Physical Therapy, I picked up my camera again. I went right back to school and finished my education.

All the while in my heart I wanted to walk to the Trail, but I physically could NOT bring myself to do it. I would drive by and look at it, only wishing I could walk it. Then, thinking of all the things that could go wrong, I would push the desire aside.
Of course still capturing the natural beauty.....

After realizing that life is too short to NOT do the things that you really want to do. I decided to try to get back on the trail this spring. I invited my husband to join me. (that way if I fell along the way he could just carry me back ;) I set a goal for myself and started slowly. At first just 20 min and then 50, until I finally worked my way up to the 1 and 1/2 hours it takes me to walk the 5 miles. I am so happy that I was able to do it, and feel like myself again. If you think I was proud of myself for making through school after the whole ordeal, you should see how proud of myself I am now after THIS achievement.

A Special Thanks to my Husband who pushed and pulled me on that Trail, when I thought I couldn't make it.

I stand by this.....

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Everybody's Fine.....

Doesn't it make you wonder if people are telling you the truth when you ask how they are doing? You know, when you ask... "So, how are things?" they say Everything is fine......When asked about our families we say Everybody's fine or they're good.

We tell people what they want to hear. Is it because people think everyone else's life is Perfect? I think I am a bit of a realist...and most times when my friends ask how are things...I don't usually say Everthing's fine.....I usually talk a little bit about the events in my life =) Which is NOT perfect by the way...

Today I realized it's just what people say, some people don't even really want to know.
It's just what we say.

I watched a Movie today that impacted me in such a way that I can't really describe yet....I guess I still have to think about it.......

Anyway, while this post has Nothing to do with this Image, someone once told me a Blog Post is Always better with an Image.

This Image was taken at sunrise on Daytona Beach in Florida. While I didn't like Florida to live. I did appreciate the beauty of the beaches......

What's Your Point of View???

There are many ways to see things in Life....and there are a lot of ways to look at the same thing. You could have a dozen people look at the same exact thing and it will be described differently each time. Some People see a cup half empty, while others see it half full.

The definition of a point of view is.......

"a mental position from which things are viewed"

So, I guess it's all about how you train your mind to "view" things.

Everyone has and is entitled to their own point of view.

I took the images below at nice little place in South Natick. I kept trying to decide which Point of View held the better image........
But I quickly decided one is not better than the other....It is simply from a DIFFERENT Point of View.

You can decide which one YOU like better.

La Quinceañera

A Quinceañera is the Hispanic tradition of celebrating a young girl's coming of age and that is her 15th Birthday.
Little girls in the Hispanic Culture dream of becoming La Quinceañera........This is the Day when a little Girl becomes a Young Lady. It is the day when she gets to waltz around in a ballgown and be crowned.

There are many different ceremonies. The most common is the gift of a Tiara which symbolizes the triumph over her childhood and the ability to face the challenges ahead.
It is traditional for the ceremony to include changing of her little girl shoes to high heels which represents becoming a young lady.
Also Common is the gift of a Scepter symbolizing that She is becoming responsible for herself.
I took the above images at the celebration of a Very Special Quinceañera. I was there the day she was born and it amazes me how time flies. She has grown into such a beautiful young Lady and has made me very proud to be her TITI.

Love you Damary Eliz.

Sometimes.....

Sometimes, What we are looking for is not what we thought we were looking for.....

Sometimes, We have to be without to appreciate the things that we have.......

Sometimes, That thing that we were looking for was right in front of us the whole time....

Sometimes, We need see things from a different perspective........

Sometimes, I find the beauty of an image has nothing to do with a person's face.

Sometimes.............You can dance without looking and just FEELING your way.

I hope this image can do for you what it did for me........

The only thing is............Sometimes, not everyone feels the same.

The Cost of Photography.....

I came across an article and I found it interesting....

Some people are outraged at the cost of Photography but don't understand where the cost is going. Most people think photography just happens by clicking a button. That is NOT the case....

As a photographer there is a lot of work that goes into every image.

Some one once said "I am an Image Maker not a Button Pusher" I agree with them.

When you know the True Value of Photography you will schedule your event around Your Photographer's schedule.

click the link and read the article so you better understand the cost involved.
